Happy New Year at Winter Eliot!
For many Unitarians, by far the best way to celebrate the New Year is to attend Winter Eliot, at Seabeck, Washington. It’s part camp, part conference … all magic! Eliot is an inclusive, all-ages vacation for families, couples, and individuals, for Unitarians and their friends. The five-day Winter Eliot features interesting speakers for the adults and fun programs for children and teens each morning. This year’s speaker will be well-known UU musician/composer, Jason Shelton. You may know him better as the composer of some favourites such as Standing on the Side of Love and Fire of Commitment, as well as arranger of the piano parts for many songs such as Blue Boat Home.
For more information about Winter Eliot, visit the website or contact Donna Hamilton ([email protected]) at the Beacon Unitarian Church.

LAY LEADER TRAINING SPECIAL UPDATE: SUMMER 2019
The CUC is pleased to announce that the Serving With Spirit: Nurturing UU Lay Leaders Retreat will be happening in both Eastern and Western Canada in Summer 2019. This retreat was met with great reviews following our first attempt in 2017 and we will be offering it July 26- 28 [Eastern] and August 9- 11 [Western], locations TBD.
Do you wish that you experienced your participation in your congregation as an expression of ministry, not primarily an obligation to do your part?
Please Note: In addition to the Retreat, two specialized Lay Leader Training sessions will be offered, one for Eastern- UU History with Stefan Jonasson July 27 and one in Western- Stronger Together: Planning for Partnership with Rev. Joan Van Becelaere, August 10.
