Members of South Fraser Unitarian Congregation: lend us your ears!
If you enjoyed having Tony Turner join our service, here’s an opportunity to include other special guest musicians. This is your personal invitation to propose their names.
Music plays a key role in the worship services at SFUC. This is clear from the commitment and quality of our musicians, the choir, the enthusiastic participation of the Congregation, and the openness to understanding the power of music in any spiritual quest.
SFUC has an opportunity to enhance its appreciation of music through a limited donation which will enable us to engage several special guest musicians during the coming year’s worship services. This is an invitation to members of the SFUC to suggest the names of specific musicians.
A small working group under the guidance of the Worship Arts Team (WAT) will consider all proposals. They will make recommendations to the WAT for musicians they believe will meet SFUC worship requirements and enhance services. These will then be reviewed by Rev. Samaya Oakley and Worship Arts Associates.
A form entitled “Proposal for Guest Musician(s)” will be available on the SFUC website and paper copies will be in the church foyer until the end of June.
Members of our Congregation who may know of regionally-based, high-quality, professional musicians are encouraged to complete this form and submit it to the Guest Musician Working Group chair, Ann Bryce, on paper, or by email as an attachment. It’s hoped that this one-year pilot project can begin September 2018 and continue until June 2019. Please submit possibilities as soon as possible so that planning can start soon.
