Unfolding – Rev. Samaya Writes

It has been my practice for quite some time to take myself out for a walk each morning. I count myself as blessed to be able to go around the ponds at Southmere Park to watch how nature unfolds throughout the year. For just about a year now I’ve watched the comings and goings of the people, the birds, and nature in the natural ebb and flow of life.

I can truly say that spring is upon us. The spring birds have returned, the geese are pairing up and fighting each other off for territory (which can be quite scary when it happens right in front of you!), and the buds on the trees are unfolding. Each day brings a significant change in that the buds on this particular bush were only tiny little ones that barely were emerging from the limbs a week ago.

I wonder what it would be like if we allowed this natural unfolding to happen in our own lives. Sometimes we push and pull, striving towards things – be it our spiritual exercises, our communication with others, pushing ourselves to be better and do better in life. What if we were perfect just the way we were and we let go and just let ourselves unfold naturally … taking time to breathe in and breathe out, being fully present to who and what we are in each moment. How are you unfolding into the wholeness of your being? Please join me in this exploration and feel free to join me during my office hours to talk about how you are unfolding into wholeness.
