A Solstice Service for the Season

Rev. Samaya with Service Leader Gwen MacKinnon

Advent Candle: Love

Online Greeter: Ryan

For over thousands of years people have gathered on the eve of Winter Solstice to celebrate the rebirth of the sun. Today we gather to be nurtured and held during the longest night and begin to look forward to the light returning. From out of the darkness and cold, light and hope return. Join us as we slow down, sit in silence together and rest when the wheel turns.
We welcome everyone to our service. This year we will be holding the event online. Join us at 4 pm for our annual Solstice Ritual to honour the gifts of the night and to celebrate the return of the light. To prepare yourselves for the ritual at home, please know which way the directions are, have on hand your chalice to light and a bowl of water. We’ll stay after the service for social time where each person will have an opportunity to share a story about food they enjoy at this time of year. You’ll want to have a beverage and perhaps something good to nibble on as we share stories.
