And it Came to Pass – Christmas Eve

Join us at 7:00 pm for our online Christmas Eve service. In our lessons and carols service, we’ll take
time to remember the story of old, the birth of Jesus, and what it means for our lives today.

Solstice Ritual

For over thousands of years people have gathered on the eve of Winter Solstice to celebrate the rebirth of the sun. Today we gather to be nurtured and held during the longest night and begin to look forward to the light returning. From out of the darkness and cold, light and hope return. Join us as we slow down, sit in silence together and rest when the wheel turns. We welcome everyone to our service. Join us at 3:30 pm for carol singing followed by our annual Solstice ritual and labyrinth walk at 4:00 pm to honour the gifts of the night and to celebrate the return of the light. We meet at Kwomais Park, 1367 128th St, Surrey.

What’s the Buzz?

The story of “Palm Sunday” can be reported by at least five different participant groups in that event, each through their own lens. How can we cut through the ‘buzz’ of our current 24-7 information cycle to determine what’s ‘true’?

A Holy Pause

As we enter the holiday season, we move into a time and space that take on a different dimension. It’s as if it runs on fast forward at times, and other times, slows right down, particularly during our long, dark evenings. It’s as if the longer nights invite us into a holy pause. Perhaps this it’s our yearly reminder to simply arrive right Here, right Now. This service contains a credo statement as well as a covenanting ceremony with our new ministerial student, Francis.

Taming Our Ghosts & Monsters

We all have them! Those parts of ourselves that we keep hidden and locked away because we feel they are too ugly or shameful to be seen by others. This service explores what would happen if we took the time to listen to and befriend our ghosts and monsters. You are invited to dress up as your favourite ghost or monster for the service.

The Wisdom of the Velveteen Rabbit

At this time of Easter, we turn to the story of the Velveteen Rabbit for wisdom. The moral of the story in the Velveteen Rabbit is that in loving others and in allowing others to love us, we become real and find the true meaning in life. As the Velveteen Rabbit shows us, no profound transformation happens without some pain. It is with courage an openness that allows us to live lives that become more worthwhile, more authentic, and more “real”.
