A service honouring Remembrance Day featuring the poem-play “Canadian Nurses in War Time” with Renée Saklikar and Ishbel Newstead.

“Canadian Nurses in War Time” is a poem-play, written by Surrey’s former poet laureate, Renée Saklikaris and researched by Ishbel Newstead. It is an artistic response to an exhibit about Canadian nurses in war time at the Museum of Surrey, BC, and tells the story of 3 nurses. The author and researcher do the play’s readings and will respond to questions after the service.

This service will be held in person at 3:30 pm on Sunday, November 12, 2023. Peninsula United Church – 15639 – 24th Ave, Surrey, BC. Refreshments and Q&A to follow.
